The outer worlds is a fun game combining a tight gameplay, clear political comments and a retro-future stowing aesthetic. This aesthetic is perfect, and nowhere else does it do it better than the "weapons of science" that you can get in a series of quests. 'Weapons from the void' gives you the opportunity to make a jump in the world by bringing together five strange and wonderful weapons to add to your collection: the prismatic hammer, the rear-mandibular, the Gloop pistol, the retractable radius and the Mental control radius.
Although everyone inflicts a little damage and escapes your science skills, their real value lies in their utility because they change the way the fights take place rather than put an end to those who are not. Here are their locations and their effects (most appear on your card if you have this game as an active quest):
Prismatic hammer: pioneer
The prismatic hammer is a two-handed melee weapon that treats a carousel of cyclists of all the types of damage available in the game at each shot (depending on your science skill) and can draw an explosion of projectile during an attack power. Scan attacks treat rather with several types of damage at a time. The damage (72) seem low, but are a little misleading if you take into account this factor and make this weapon an excellent melee weapon for controlling the crowd, even if it risks stumbling against a single target.
REARRANGER MANDIBULAR: Pioneer
Melee weapon with one hand This time, the RearRanger mandibular inflicts about as much damage as the Sentry Blade you receive at the beginning of the game (just 73 dps). This effect makes it an inexpensive choice as a primary damage donor for melee types. Where he excels, it's the battle against a single giant enemy. It slows down the enemies with each shot and the paralyzes possibly, allowing you to stay out of reach of enemies and to knock them off, allowing you to kill easily.
Gloop Gun: Monarch
Gloop Gun is a heavy weapon that works on energy cells and splashes in a wide range. Splashed enemies are weakened (the science-evolving time) and undergo a small amount of shock damage. The true value lies in the periodic levitation of its enemies, which makes them totally helpless and easy to take for a more damaging area weapon.
The Gloop Gun is the only gun that is not on your card. You can get it at the Secondary Mission Errors Unseen behind a piracy terminal. If your computer hacking is not up to it, do not worry; You can not access it by responding to a series of security questions. The answers are obvious if you remember that this game is strongly based on the satire of corporate culture.
shrinking radius: near Phineas
This is particularly difficult to miss. Unfortunately, it's the least useful of the group. It is a fun punch weapon with a hand that works on energy cells. It inflicts a small amount of plasma damage and reduces a single enemy as long as you hold the trigger down.
This last part is the reason why this weapon does not cut it, except perhaps in the niche where you are a "companion specialist" that has almost fully used the Dialog software.
Mental Control Ray: Monarch
The latter is a long gun that inflicts plasma damage and uses energy cells, and it's a bit of a doozy. It has a ridiculously long range and reverses enemies against each other; Your science technique enhances their travel and attack speed, making them more deadly. The massive torque with the surprisingly low noise detection range means that it can be used effectively in stealth, making it an excellent weapon to reward stealthy players who do not want to get taming hands directly.
